SlaXBMC 14.1 is released

After a very long wait the moment has finally come for yet another SlaXBMC release.
It is based on Slackware/Slackware64/Slackware ARM 14.1, XBMC Frodo 12.3 and contains many bug fixes, changes and additions. As usual it comes in three flavors x86 (32bit), x86_64 (64bit) and ARM (Raspberry Pi).

Some of the most notable changes and features for each architecture in this release are:
SlaXBMC 14.1 (32bit) and SlaXBMC64 14.1 (64bit)
  • Exit to desktop mode via XBMC
  • Reboot/Shutdown the PC via XBMC
  • Enable/Disable toggle for XBMC autostart
  • Enable/Disable toggle switch for PulseAudio/ALSA via the desktop right click menu
  • Automated download and install/update of Google Chrome via the desktop right click menu (only available on Developer mode installations)
  • Automated download and install of the Adobe Flash plugin via the desktop right click menu (only available on Developer mode installations)
  • Select the screen DPI via the desktop right click menu
  • Less than 3.5 GB root partition on full installation (Developer mode)
  • Less than 2 GB root partition on minimal installation (Minimal mode)
  • XBMC Frodo 12.3
  • Select packages update mirror from the desktop right click menu
  • Retrieve security patches from the desktop right click menu
  • Perform package updates/installation/removal from the desktop right click menu
  • CEC library and LIRC

  • Exit to desktop mode via XBMC
  • Reboot/Shutdown the Raspberry Pi via XBMC
  • Enable/Disable toggle for XBMC autostart
  • Enable/Disable toggle switch for PulseAudio/ALSA via the desktop right click menu
  • Select the screen DPI via the desktop right click menu
  • Less than 3.2 GB root partition on full installation (Developer mode)
  • Less than 1.9 GB root partition on minimal installation (Minimal mode)
  • XBMC Frodo 12.3
  • Midori web browser (only available on Developer mode installations)
  • Select packages update mirror from the desktop right click menu
  • Retrieve security patches via the desktop right click menu
  • Perform package updates/installation/removal via the desktop right click menu
  • Manage Raspberry Pi overclocking via the desktop right click menu 
  • Monitor the Raspberry Pi overclock status via the desktop right click menu
  • CEC library and LIRC
  • Linux Kernel 3.10.36
  • Pre-built 8 GB SD Card SlaXBMCRPi images
